STRESS FREE
We work with a strict stress free policy. We make only three flight rotations per day allowing us plenty of time to provide a totally stress free environment for both our crew and clients. This improves both safety and pleasure.

Aviation and free flight, in particular, is my greatest passion. Sharing these experiences and emotions with my guests is an amazing privilege for me.
I am originally from Wales, moved to Sweden in 1988 and started paragliding that same year after a trip to Chamonix. With some previous skydiving and sailplane experience, the transition to paragliding went relatively smoothly. I was hooked immediately and flew every moment I could. It didn’t take long before I became an instructor. I started working professionally with paragliding in 1991 and have never looked back, I founded Stockholm’s Paragliding school in 1995 which later on changed its name to Airsports. My love and passion for being airborne never weakened, it’s driven me to learn to fly most types of aircraft but paragliding is and always will be my favourite form of flying with its unbeatable feeling of freedom and “simplicity”.
Finally, I gave in to the long dark Scandinavian winters and moved to the Island of eternal spring, Tenerife in 2013 and founded Airsports Tenerife paragliding. Here the thermals really never end. We can safely fly all year round with an average of about 340 flyable days per year! A paragliding paradise!
When I´m not in the sky you will most probably find me camping with my kids, buzzing about on my motorbike or mountain bike, or busy in the kitchen cooking and mixing drinks 🙂

As a commercial pilot I came across this activity in Tenerife. The idea of free flight being completely exposed to the environment decided us to do a tandem paragliding flight... read more in Tenerife. After contacting several paragliding companies we decided to work together with Airsports Tenerife as they were very quick to respond, had availabilities on our chosen date and allowed us to use our own camera equipment (which others simply did not allow). Simon was very responsive to all our questions via whatsapp and gave some tips on what to bring and what to wear. He didn’t require a prepayment and we could pay after the flights. On the day itself we got picked up at the hotel. We drove to the launch site, got out and got prepared to fly. Unfortunately the wind wasn’t favorable. After 30min of waiting they decided to take us to another launch site some 500m further away while the other companies decided to wait for better conditions at the first launch site. Our new takeoff site was more spectacular with a steeper takeoff run (which got us a bit nervous). Due to a miscommunication my first takeoff attempt wasn’t successful. One of the instructors told me during the preflight briefing to “run run run”... which I did... pulling Simon behind me towards the cliff while the glider wasn’t fully inflated. Creating a dangerous situation Simon shouted at me to stop. I was a bit shocked by his apparent angry reaction but we sorted it out and, being a pilot myself, I could understand his reaction after being put in a dangerous situation. I asked for clear instructions on what to do during the takeoff and our second attempt was successful. The flight itself was S P E C T A C U L A R! While my wife received lots of info about the views during her flight... I received a lot of information about how to fly the glider etc. (much appreciated). Feeling the thermals, flying through the clouds being exposed to the weather,... it was an incredible experience. I even got the offer to take the controls myself... but kindly refused the offer taking into account the mistakes I made during the first takeoff attempt :-). The approach to land was stunning... having some fun flying low over the balconies of a nearby hotel and the beach chairs. Landing was smooth and spot on! The whole experience was overwhelming and superb... and since the flight I've been surfing the net for approved paragliding schools in my country. If I need to give a small "remark"... take some more time to brief the guests before the flight to avoid the guests making the error I did. I guess for most clients it’s their first experience with paragliding and we just don’t know what to do if we’re not being told what to do. Though I’m pretty sure this briefing is normally provided to guests of Airsports Tenerife and it might have been forgotten for our flights. Anyway... I highly recommend the company. They clearly are pro’s in what they do! …

They were really helpful, friendly and all round just lovely people who wanted to ensure my husband had the best experience possible. My husband paraglided with Martino who was so knowledgeable about paragliding, the weather required to ensure a safe flight and about the island itself. I booked the ‘Gold’ package so that we were able to have footage of this experience to keep as well. My husband loved every minute of it and the footage is amazing. We have so much to look at from videos and pictures and it just looked like an all round amazing experience. I can’t thank you enough guys! You were all brilliant on the day and made my husbands 50th birthday extra special. Thank you!

I did a lot of research on the companies offering paragliding activities in south Tenerife as I wanted to... read more sure I chose the best for experience of doing the activity and the experience they could offer me.
To me these guys stood out. Many years experience in the business as well as many years paragliding even up to world competition level. They knew their stuff and oozed confidence they would take the greatest care of you - even if it meant no flight!
I respected that! and I was not wrong in my choice!
Right from the start I was made to feel a valued customer but in a friendly way. Simon was very clear from the start that as I was a larger gent, the wind had to be sufficient otherwise we couldn’t fly - but in an informed, sensible way that just gave confidence that these people really knew what they were doing.
I expected nothing less and was not at all offended that my issues with gravity could be an issue (by the way - it was explained that even though I was in under the max weight limit - it was no guarantee as the wind was everything).
So 7 of us went up and up and up to the launch site and when we got there, the views were spectacular - but very little wind.
2 solo gliders had to wait quite a while before the wind played ball for them and then (after another wait) the first tandem went off (Anthony was a much more slender chap than I was).
The wind was being a pain, but the views and the chat was making it no issue, but I was fully prepared for the flight to be called off (after all, no-one wants to take a risk).
However, eventually (I reckon 45 minutes after we got there) the wind picked up and it was action stations.
Suited up, the instruction to walk, then run came and before I knew it, we were soaring away and ‘enjoy’ became the theme.
It was incredible! For me, a lifelong dream I’d waited far to long too realise was coming true and it was all rather emotional - almost a religious experience really.
Simon was amazing and attentive, making sure I made the most of the experience. I can’t explain how unreal and fantastic it felt.
All I can say to people is - don’t be nervous and miss out in the experience of a lifetime.
It’s taken me many years to get the courage up and now I wish I’d done it sooner.

So please, please, please - if you’re thinking of paragliding use Airsports Tenerife and even if you’re not - use Airsports Tenerife.
